Oct 31 – put yer records on!

I’ve been listening to some great records these last few weeks; Tinariwen’s Mali desert blues getting an – almost – acoustic treatment with their new record Tassili, and Mike Scott’s new Waterboys record, An Appointment With Mr Yeats ; WB Yeat’s poems set to Mike Scott’s original work, it’s stunning and i advise you to stop what you’re doing immediately and go listen. And Mr Gallagher’s High Flying Birds record has been getting multiple spins as well as has Ron Mcelroy’s – yes it’s FINALLY COMING OUT – debut record “ALl Her Kisses” which is the culmination of a few years’ labour of love, and you’ll all know about it soon enough i’ve no doubt. i think you can tell on first listen if someone’s made a record just for themselves, just ’cause it felt like the right thing to do at the time and no other reason..the music’s just better for it. and that’s that.
So a couple of days to go till the first of three london shows for the new record, looking forward to playing the Troubadour, it’s steeped in history and liquor drinks are free poured. a great night. see you then .
